General: Cypress Bend park will put you within easy paddling range of some of the finest and quickest warm water fishing that you can experience within one hour of Austin. The goal is to paddle down to where the Comal and the Guadalupe combine, there you’ll find much cooler water, thanks to the Comal, and active fish on even the warmest of days. Don’t worry about dodging tubers either, the New Braumfels “Can Ban” (no aluminum cans) effectively stopped traffic on this stretch of the Guadalupe meaning you’re only likely to see the occasional paddler.

Hint: Directly below the map click on  “Larger Size”. Then you will have the option to select Google Earth, if you don’t have it get it, it’s free and pretty much the coolest thing ever.
