How great would this be!

Okay, i know that this video seems a little tame and boring. But i’m imagining this is me cruising down the Llano while tossing size 6 poppers to the Largemouth holed up on the bottom of the bluffs. Maybe snacking on wine and cheese while floating the Pedernales (please come rain) and keeping an eye out for the monstrous gar lurking in the shadows! Or surfing the coast, catching waves while casting to Redfish! How cool would that be!

Check out this guy. That could be any one of us on Barton Creek, after a lot of rain and a mangrove infestation.

No that is not me...yet. Photo from "Kayak Angler Online".

Okay, i’m calming down now.

And no I am not sponsored by Yolo or being payed by them to get myself all excited and hyperventilating at the possibilities. If i was i’d have cooler photos and video than this, of myself fly fishing some incredible spots here in Texas.

This is Fly Number 19

I’ve always liked the artists they’ve featured but this is the first one that i’m flipping out about. If a genie offered me the ability to draw i would wish for this style…freakin awesome. Check it out.

This if Fly #17

cover

Always visually well done as well as having great articles. My favorite in #17 is the article about getting the most out of your fishing photography. Now let’s hope we get some water so i can put them to use!

Drift: And Four Other Movies Netflix Doesn’t Want You to See (Apparently)

Just finished watching for the umpteenth time in the last month and wanted to share some information with you.

First is the that if you haven’t watched Drift you simply must see it. It is amazingly well put together. Not as edgy as i usually like my fish/surf videos, but the cinematography, editing, and music are so well put together, i simply can’t imagine not liking it.

Secondly, it’s one of a handful of GOOD fly fishing movies you can get through Netflix, although you probably wouldn’t know it since they don’t come up in the sports/fishing genre search that they should obviously be under.

Realizing that, i put together a list of the other quality fly fishing movies that can be obtained with a netflix account.

1)Drift

2)Trout Bum 1: Patagonia

3)Trout Bum 2: New Zealand

4)Fish Bum 1: Mongolia

5)Trout Grass

Now if they would just get Felt Soul Media and Rollcast Productions on there!

New This is Fly!

Hooray! It’s here..the new “This is Fly” issue!

Wait…racoons? You can’t fish for racoons!

Awesome as always.
