It’s here. Eastern Rises, the L-O-N-GÂ awaited video from the guys at Felt Soul Media is finally available for people like me to watch over and over. When i saw the trailer for this over a year ago, at the 2009 Drake Film Festival, i actually was shaking in my seat with anticipation, really.
Although it was a long belated release, i have to say, it is an absolutely quality film. I really don’t think that there is anybody out there in the Fy Fishing World doing anything at this level on such a consistent basis. And while the movie across the board is done REALLY well, the highlight has to be the cinematography, there are some shots that are drop dead gorgeous. I’m not sure how they did it (pulleys?) but some of the panning and craning shots are absolute treasures.
I only have only gripe, at the 38 minute mark i was shocked to have the rug pulled out from under me. I don’t want to see a 120 minute directors cut of crap, but judging from the footage in this film i think they could have run longer. But hey, the candle that burns twice as bright…right?!
